You do not need to master all the details in the exam, but the material will enhance your perspective and hopefully also show you methods for building arguments and critical view on different aspects.

      Clayton Christensen's (Harvard) book about the innovators dilemma is a very famous and powerful discussion about why it is difficult even for very successful (technology) companies to survive when disruptive technologies emerge. Read a summary of the book (e.g. in the link) and get familiar with the issue and what we mean with disruptive technologies.

      Clayton Christensen's (Harvard) coined a term disruptive technology in his book Disruptive Technologies: Catching the Wave. This has been generalised also to term disruptive innovation. Read more about this terms (e.g. in the link given) and apply them to what you have heard during the lectures, too.

      Read about dominant design, a term and concept introduced by Utterback & Abernathy. The concept is very strong abstraction to describe, how some specific technologies or products can become de facto standards or even near monopolies. Get yourself familiar with the concept.
