Here is some common and general feedback and my regards as a teacher on the course.

The teams have put in a lot of effort and this was seen and reflected in both the final exam and the poster presentations.

The posters were clear and informative. Your own brand was well established and its elements were clearly visible. A few teams had good complementary material and demo structures on display. These helped to illustrate the functionality of the concept. The animation material available through the Q-code link was also a nice and well-functioning addition. The oral presentations at the posters went well and the discussion was active.

How would we have continued our design work after the course? I had several discussions about this. After the conceptual phase, we would have continued with the techno-economic phase and detailed design. The creation of a business model and the exploration of manufacturing solutions would be the necessary next steps. This further work would, in practice, constitute a complete 5-credit course "from innovation to commercial success".

      END GALA ARRANGEMENTS

We will have poster session as the presentation method. Instructions on poster preparation given in Assignments section.

We have two similar events (Thu 18.4. 9-12 /25.4. 9-12), since course participants can not make it on one single day. I try to get poster frames to Puu1 building and the events held at the lobby here.

Every team should have at least one person present at the poster to tell the others about your design work. Therefore, the poster should show the highlights and the oral storytelling the details, in addition to answer the questions. You are free to circulate and see the other posters during the event.

Based on the voting the distribution looks as follows:

Note: marked with x=has voted, y=not participated voting and placed by Jouni.

If you experience problems with this division, please do discuss in your team how sort it out and then inform me who is present, if not according to this original division. Especially those with marking y.

What should our team present and discuss on the Mid-discussion event on March 7th?

Show an example of your finalized requirement list and the current “weight-score evaluation chart” and/or “binary comparison table”, if used.

      · What was the outcome from questionnaire/survey and how it has affected your design?

      · You do not need to show your design and sketching to the others. However, try shortly describe the main ideas and pathways in your design. You are of course free to show your design and illustrations if you want.

      Tell us (at least):

o   Where are you in your design process at the moment?

o   What have been the biggest challenges so far in your project?

o   What are the next topics and steps in your design work?

o   Do you need something specific or some special skills/information/other? to complete your work successfully?

o   Have you identified your brand image? If yes, what is characteristic of it?

o   Other things you consider relevant

END EXAM IS IN the EXAM-SYSTEM

The individual end exam will be available in the EXAM-system, where you can book the time suiting you the best. There is no traditional exam in June, as it pops up from SISU.

The individual end exam will include two (2) essay questions (6 points/question) + multiple choice- questions (3 x 2 p = 6 p) given by the system. In addition, there is a "feedback question" reflecting your learning outcomes and feedback about the course (2 points). Total points from this exam 18+2 = 20 p.

      Exam period is: 12.3 - 31.5.2024.

General instructions "how to" do exams in the EXAM-system:

      https://wiki.aalto.fi/display/OPIT/EXAM

If you have not used EXAM system earlier, please go into the system and register as described in the instructions. Then select a suitable time to do conduct the exam. Exam time will be 55 minutes.
