    Welcome to "Entrepreneurship Law” course.

    This course is designed to give you a practical understanding of the legal opportunities and challenges you'll face as an entrepreneur, especially in Finland. Whether you're dreaming of starting a café or a tech startup, you'll learn how to navigate the legal landscape successfully using legal tools to reach your entrepreneurial goals.  


    What Will You Learn? 

    Proactive law and systems thinking: You will understand how human, economic, and legal systems interact and how solving the human and economic challenges often also solves the legal problems you might be facing. 

    The potential roles of the companies in your life and your role in these companies.  

    Foundation in Law: Get the basic legal toolkit you need to kickstart your business venture. 

    Different Areas of Law: Understand key legal topics such as contracts, company structure, intellectual property, taxes, and employee rights. 

    Business Structures: Discover what kind of business structure suits your entrepreneurial needs—be it a sole proprietorship, partnership, or a limited liability company. 

    Intellectual Property: Understand how to protect your innovations and ideas. 

    Employment Law: Make sure your hiring process complies with Finnish employment regulations. 

    Data Protection: Understand data protection is essential for every entrepreneur both for the opportunities and risks it links to.

    Practicalities for Fall 2023  

    In fall 2023, Entrepreneurship Law is offered as a 3 ECTS, 7-week online only course during teaching period II. The course starts on Monday 23.10.2023 and ends on Sunday 10.12.2023.  


    Workload 

    The workload of the course is 3 ECTS i.e. 80 hours divided over 7 weeks. You should reserve 10-12 h each week for the course work. As the work is cumulative, it is best to work on steady pace each week as it is impossible to work 80 hours during the last week of the course.
