    TEXTILES


    The field of textiles is a huge industry, and textile products are everywhere in our environment. There is a wide variety of textile materials, from acoustic curtains to hospital protective wear. As a result, textile designers and engineers can work in different positions and roles within the industry. 

    The textile industry – like all industries – is facing challenges with sustainability. As a result, environmental perspectives and sustainability are the base for all design work in today's world.

    Topics 1.1 and 1.2 introduces you to the field of textiles and the most critical perspectives on sustainability for a textile designer. Complete the topics by 4th October.


    Written Assignment 1/4

    Choose one of your clothes and photograph the garment and the care label. Write shortly (about 1/2 pages) what the label tells you about the product and what kind of expectations you have about the product quality, durability, comfortability, usability, material properties and sustainability. Attach the text and the pictures to your 1st submission (deadline 4th October).

    You can return to this after completing the course and see if your expectations and knowledge have changed.
