    TEXTILE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE


    Different applications and end-uses require certain properties and quality from textiles. Functional textiles have special properties that support the end-use of the textiles. Textile quality is tested and controlled and it can be communicated through standards and certificates. 

    Topics 4.1-4.3 introduce functional textiles and functional textile design and teach the basics about textile quality, standards, and testing. Complete the topics by 18th October.


    Written Assignment 4/4

    Choose a textile product that you want to design and produce (you can find the product from home or come up with an imaginary one). Describe your product and the end-user. Define the quality requirements of your product: technical quality, production quality, user-based quality, and value-based quality. Draw a mind map about the requirements. How can you test the quality? Attach the text and mind map (about 1 page in total) to your 2nd submission (deadline 18th October).
