    To get ready for Day 1, please watch a short introductory video about the Finnish Society and Government and read the information below about the course practicalities. 


    Course arrangements & key dates

    – There will be two contact teaching days in the first week: Monday, 26th February (9.15 – 12h) AND Wednesday, 28th February (9.15 -16h)
    - This course happens over two periods, Period IV and V, a total 12 weeks.
    - Contact teaching will happen every Wednesday from 28th February until 29th May, except on 3rd April (Easter), 17th April (Period Break) and 1st May (Bank holidays).
    Additionally, there will be two sessions on the first Monday of Period IV (26th Feb) and Period V (22nd April)
    - Contact teaching will happen on-site at the Aalto Campus. Attendance is mandatory 
    – Independent group work activities are scheduled during contact teaching and outside contact teaching hours, that students will have to arrange with their teams.

    – 10 April Mid-Term Presentation 
    – 8 May Ideation Session
    – 29 May Final Show


    Workload overview

    The course is 12 ECTS. This equals 324 total hours of work, roughly 3.5 full working days per week. 

    Activities have been distributed week-by-week to consider a balance in the workload. Note that certain weeks are more demanding than others. Specially on Period IV the group work is more intense on Weeks 2-4,  due to arranging and conducting fieldwork. And end of the course to prepare for the public Final show on 29th May.
