The students will learn methods and approaches for understanding player experience and identifying issues that need to be addressed in a game’s design.
The learned methods are applicable both in game development and in Master’s thesis projects that conduct user studies on games.

Content

The course consists of lectures and practical exercises where students test and analyze games and iterate on the design of the tested games. The students are encouraged to utilize their own games in the exercises so that the course supports other Aalto courses like Game Project.
