  • Welcome!

    Welcome to the opening lecture, which is going to take place on Friday September 8th, 2023, at 12:15-13:45 at T1 ( C202), CS Building (Konemiehentie 2).  The first lecture will cover the course practicalities, which will be available also in a document published during the lecture. If you have any questions, I prefer Presemo over email. 


    The course is lectured  in English and all the study materials including on-line exercises and the final examinations will be in English.  Corresponding course in Finnish is CS-A1141 Tietorakenteet ja algoritmit Y.  Do not enrol multiple courses!

    However, the study material is not going to be here at MyCourses, but in a separate system called A+. The material will be published during the first lecture.  

    In order to get access to the course material, and the course  announcements published in MyCourses, please  register to the course in Sisu.

    If you have problems with the enrollment, the reason is typically one of the following:

    Error message: ‘The course is not in your primary study plan’:

    This error arises generally for one of two reasons:

    1. The student tried to register through the search function (the course was not included in the student’s study plan (HOPS)).
    2. The course version being used is incorrect.

    How to change the version of a course in HOPS:

    1. Go to the ‘Structure of studies’ tab, close all blue banners at the top of the page and click the course code.
    2. In the form that opens, choose the academic year from the dropdown menu under the course name.
    3. Click ‘Switch to this version’ on the blue banner at the top of the page.

    If the same error message appears (‘The course is not in your primary study plan’) even though the course version is correct and the course is in the HOPS plan, do the following:

    1. Delete the registration at the same point in the ‘Study calendar’ tab where the original registration was made.
    2. Go to the ‘Structure of studies’ tab and change the course version to an earlier one (for instance, 2022–2023).
    3. Click the ‘Select this completion method’ button.
    4. Switch the version back to the current academic year (2023–2024) and select the completion method and the course.
