    Welcome to the pilot elective "Translating Design"!

    • Title: Translating Design (for 2023, run under MUO-C0100 Project with Varying Contents)​

    • Target: 2-3 yr students in BA Design (EN) / Muotoilu / VCD​

    • Workload: 6 ECTS​

    • Teaching events: II, 2023-2024, Tuesday afternoons (13:15-17:00) and Friday mornings (09:15-12:00)​

    • Final Deliverable: A pair of individually designed artefacts​

    • Grading: 0-5​ (based on the final assignment). All assignments need to be submitted and passed. 80% minimum attendance policy.

    • Teaching Methods: A series of lectures, individual/indepedent work (design), peer supports, reflective writing, documentations, etc.​

    • Familiarize discussions on design plurality;​
    • Actualize specific design outcomes in different cultural contexts;​
    • Identify relevant aspects in design where sensitive cultural interpretation is needed; and​
    • Analyze critically personal relationships between cultural background and design practice.
