    Description: Seminar on recent research articles on NLP. The first lecture will be an introductory presentation to the topic, then every week there will be 2 students' presentations.

    Study materials: Articles and slides available online.

    Format: Seminar, one 2-hour meeting per week. No exam. In-person attendance required (minimum 10/12 weeks to pass). The seminar sessions will take place on Mondays from 10:15 to 12:00, starting on September 4. See Lectures for the full schedule and the location. The first meeting is for an introductory lecture. After that, there will be two student presentations of research articles each week. Each presentations is followed by another student serving as an opponent to the paper, and group and general discussions. Before each meeting, the students need to familiarize themselves with the papers and complete a writing assignment, which is returned in MyCourses (see Assignments section).

    Estimated workload: Attending meetings 12*2h=24h. Preparing the presentation 14h. Preparing to serve as opponent: 7h. Familiarizing oneself with the week’s papers: 11*2*3h=66h. Writing assignments: 11*2h=22h. Total: 133h, 133/26.7 = 5 cr.
