    • Home assignment 1: Introducing a topic of interest

      In preparation for the next week workshop, think of a topic of interest to you. This should be something that you are very comfortable talking about like your favourite hobby, a compelling book or artist or perhaps a study interest, a useful skill or travel recommendation.

      Prepare a short 3-5 minute introduction of the topic, which will be discussed in small groups next Tuesday.  Your goal is to raise your audience's awareness and interest to the topic, and to explain why you chose it and why they could also become interested. You can also teach others about the topic, if it is a skill or concept. Include a call to action at the end to signal e.g. how the audience could proceed or learn more.

      The duration of your introduction is 3-5 minutes followed by a brief Q&A discussion with your audience.

      If you use slides to support your introduction, use maximum three (3). You can also do a pure verbal talking point or use concrete artefacts in your introduction. Test something fitting your style or pushing your exploratory boundaries by trying something different.

      As part of the assignment return either your slides or a short outline (e.g bullet points describing your introduction topic and structure) to MyCourses by Monday April 29th 20:00.
