CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content
valid for whole curriculum period:
The course introduces the most important ferrous and non-ferrous alloys used in mechanical engineering. The emphasis is in applications in transport, energy, and process industry. The course teaches how the performance and properties are related to alloying and microstructure, and how the microstructure is tailored with different heat treatment methods. Also, the effect of operation environment and temperature are taken into account.
