CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content
  • valid for whole curriculum period:

This course raises awareness of competence requirements in working life. This is achieved by reviewing trends urging university graduates to hone their metaskills. We focus particularly on self-leadership and recognize students’ character strengths but also set goals for students’ professional growth. As pedagogy, simulations and reactive exercises allow students to develop responsiveness in dialogue. The course places emphasis on such dialogical skills as assertiveness, listening and empathy. Interaction skills are practiced in oral and written contexts: in oral contexts students rehearse skills relevant to human exchange, and in written contexts they learn formality strategies, clarity, concision and coherence. As a key written assignment, students write an executive summary related to their project work. Finally, students develop teamwork abilities by managing tasks in collaboration and exchanging feedback on individual performance.
