LEARNING OUTCOMES

After the course, the student should be able to:

- Understand of the multi-level/multi-objective nature of the traffic management

- Design sustainable and safe infratructures

- Plan the basic operation of traffic signals and other control measures

- Manage the multi-modal traffic in complex environments

- Cope with the emergency new technologies and the related challenges

- Apply the intelligent systems in order to the achieve the sustainable development goals

- Construct a vision of future transport system to solve the major challenges

    Traffic signal control: phasing, timing, coordination, intelligent signal control

    Traffic information systems, incident management, route guidance, variable message signs

    Demand management, road charging, mobility services

    Intelligent logistics

    Rail traffic management 

    Smart infrastructure, driving support systems, vehicle automation

    Sustainable energy solutions, electric mobility

    The use of new technology including sensors, communication, data processing and artificial intelligence
