At the conclusion of the course student will be able to…
- Acting as a head of the respective department during the post-production phase
- Internalize and evaluate the methods and rules of finalising technical and artistic work in post-
production phase.
- Ability to analyse and apply what is needed to work as head of department in post-production
phase both in creative and practical standpoint.
- Assess how different conditions and decisions during the pre-production and executive phase
affects one’s artistic process during post-production phase.
- Analyse and apply new perspectives in their technical and artistic practises and develop
effective working methods.
- Understand and apply collaboration with other post-production professionals /
departments
- Apply traditional and latest post-production techniques to control cinematographer’s workflow.

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content

Students will finalize projects that they planned and executed during the Advanced MA-lab 1 or 2 (ELO-E1211 or ELO-E1212). Students will edit their own material by themselves and work in professional color grading unit together with professional colorist.

Assessment Methods and Criteria
valid for whole curriculum period:
Active and regular participation to working and lectures, accomplishment of given tasks and self-reflection about the learning process during the workshop.
Evaluation criteria based on student’s own reflection about their own learning process. Student’s own progress evaluated in common feed-back session at the end of the workshop where final films will be screened to teachers and other students.
Workload
valid for whole curriculum period:
At least 80% participation in face-to-face teaching is mandatory to complete the course. If, due to absences, the student does not achieve the learning outcomes defined in the course description, the remaining 20% may have to be compensated as determined by the responsible teachers of the course. All absences must be reported to the teachers in charge. The responsible teachers of the course will specify the necessary compensating assignments.
Participating at the opening day of the workshop is mandatory.

Study Material

Course material and resources will be delivered at the beginning of the course.
Students will edit their own material that they have produced during course MA-laboratory 1 or 2 (ELO-E1211 or ELO-E1212). Edited films will be graded in professional color grading unit.
