CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD
Content
valid for whole curriculum period:
The course is structured so that the whole group is working with a medium they are not familiar with. The goal of this course is to demonstrate the dialogue between thinking, the material world, and different media. The methods vary each year and can be e.g. glass, VHS-video or charcoal drawing.
applies in this implementation
The mediums we are working with are glass and bronze casting.
The aim of the course is to "touch" something new, to be forced to gain new perspectives on your working processes, as the material has obstacles, but it also provides interesting surprises.
You don’t need any previous skills, and even though we technically go step by step through the processes of crafting glass or bronze objects, this course is not about that; it is about the process of thinking with materials, which have certain characteristics and physical substance.
