CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    Course has varying contents that may change annually. Different workshops/study events are organized by majors of Art & Media. 

    This Art&Media Programme course is an intensive workshop offered during week 7 of period 2. Several version of this workshop may be offered and students should be careful in choosing the specific workshop identified in their personal study plans.

    By the end of the workshop, the students will inscribe their artistic practice in a collective context embedded in radical technology. The workshop covers the latest theoretical understanding of the Commons in the digital space. A special focus is placed on radio art practice, and radio as a radical form of collective organization. Another emphasis lies on an experimental crossing of past, present, and future-related archives, field recordings, and practices of imagination.

    The workshop participants can design a simple radio program using Open-Source digital tools and audio elements collected during the course. The program will be broadcast live on lumbung radio.

    - Nora presentation of writings between documentation and imagination: future scenarios and documentary field recordings

    -Seminar following the lecture performance, open discussion on student practices. -Examples of audio recording using a mobile phone.

    -“Radio as Radical Education” book launch

    Wednesday 04.12.2024

    -Presentation of lumbung radio,
    An international network of radio originating from documenta fifteen.

    1-4pm
    -Workshop on radio art and radical imagination Use of Open-Source tools for audio editing. Conceptualization of the radio program

    Thursday 05.12.2024

    -Workshop on radio art -Finalizing the program

    1-4pm
    -Collective radio program broadcasted on lumbung radio live or pre-recorded.



Assessment Methods and Criteria

    Participation in teaching, completed assignments.

    Minimum 80% attendance.
