Please note! Course description is confirmed for two academic years, which means that in general, e.g. Learning outcomes, assessment methods and key content stays unchanged. However, via course syllabus, it is possible to specify or change the course execution in each realization of the course, such as how the contact sessions are organized, assessment methods weighted or materials used.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

After the course, student will be able to:

  1. explain the atomic structure and the basic principles of periodic table
  2. describe different types of chemical bonds in inorganic and organic compounds
  3. explain the significance of bonding for the structure and properties of matter, also from the point of view of applications
  4. write chemical reaction equations as well as know the basics of chemical equilibrium, and is able to apply them in practice
  5. understand how the structure of a molecule is connected to its reactivity
