Individual assignment
In this course, we ask every student to keep a personal reflection journal. After 6 weeks you have a comprehensive report of your individual learnings and connections between methods and practice. It's purposes are the following:
- Help you manage and reflect on your project and process succesfully and your personal role and development as a designer
- Help you structure your thinking and helps you reflect on how the teachings of the course complement the assignment and viceversa.
- Inform us (the teachers) about your thinking, learnings, problem-solving, and other invisible work that you will be doing in this course.
Contents
The target length of the learning Diary is the following:
- Maximum of one page
- Include your name and the project name
- Every week (6 times in total for the 6 weeks) you will hand in your reflections of max 1 pages of content (i.e. max 6 pages of all the weeks altogether)
- Including references and/or appendices if used.
- Make it visual! Please note that you can also add visual materials, depictions of the process, diagrams, and the like
What we would like you to write about for each of the journals:
- The one-pager should include interesting observations or learnings from the assignment process that are complemented with insights from the lectures. You can write about what surprised you, what you learned, novel connections you made between theories, and so on.
- As you'll notice, it is not important to report day-by-day what your project consisted of. Instead, focus on the key aspects, and use the diary as your tool to reflect: to find direction for your project and throughout the course.
- Please note that you can also add visual materials, depictions of the process, diagrams, etc.
Submit your reflection on every Friday, before 18:00. Failure to do so, will affect your grade.
