Completion requirements
Due: Thursday, 25 April 2024, 10:00 PM
SUBMIT THE SLIDES FOR YOUR PRESENTATION REHEARSAL HERE.
- You can use the slide template attached below or a design of your own choice.
- These slides are for your practice talk, so they don't need be completely ready or perfect yet. After the rehearsal, you can still make any changes or improvements that you might find necessary.
As part of the Final presentation task, each student participates in:
- 1 rehearsal session with a small
group and analyses their own Zoom Recorded practice talk (A7)
- 1 conference: as a speaker and as a member of the audience
giving feedback to one other speaker.
REHEARSAL INSTRUCTIONS
How to prepare for the rehearsal
- Prepare your slides. It is important that you can practise realistically using the slides and how to match and synchronise your speech with the supportive visual information.
- Practise your talk at home a few times before this rehearsal to ensure that it remains within the given time, i.e. 8-10 minutes.
Instructions for the rehearsal
- The rehearsal session is your opportunity to practise the whole
presentation with the slides
and a small audience, to try the equipment and get feedback from your peers.
All the basic equipment will be available in the classroom.
- You will work in small groups
of 3-4 students. During the talk, the audience will focus on specific
features of the presentation according to given guidelines. After each talk,
the group will have 15-20 minutes for discussing the presentation and
giving feedback.
- Video your presentation using Zoom or other videoing tools.
- The purpose of the videotaping and the self-analysis is to help you take
an analytical look at your own performance and use your own observations
in addition to the feedback from your peers to improve the presentation when preparing for the final conference.
Rehearsal
- Practice with your visuals, so that you can actually practise
giving the presentation once through with the visuals, even in case of
connection problems.
After the rehearsal: Self-evaluation and analysis (A7)
- Watch the video of your practice talk at
home and fill in the self-evaluation and analysis form (submit as A7).
