I would like to share with you some of my thoughts regarding this journey in order to guide us onto the same page how we are going to spend the next a few months together and complete your master thesis. My teaching philosophy includes the following parts: 1) conceptualisation of supervising and learning. I strongly believe that each of you is different and thesis writing reflects not only your learning output but also your personal situations. Therefore, I think it is highly important to have a mutual understanding of a) the goal of passing the final exam and b) how we collaborate throughout the project. This understanding is also essential before we go to the thesis content in order to have a smooth process. 2) how I supervise. The ideal situation would be to help you develop academic skills to complete your master thesis and perhaps industrial insights should you choose not to continue your career in academic.  I will try to let both of us understand the spirit of this collaboration is not just “let’s get the job done” but rather enjoy the process. Whether you pursue an academic life or seek challenge in the industry after graduation, I would like to emphasis that this is the period that we can enjoy the freedom and support to research and write what you are truly interested. Based on these points, I would like to help you to improve a comprehensive skill set including English writing, psychological consciousness (soft skills such as communication, cultural awareness etc.), and academic competence.

There are useful materials for your reference in different sessions. We may organise extra meetings apart from regular ones should you think necessary but please allow at least one week before your ideal time slot. Please also allow at least one week for the feedback on your submission.
