General information on course schedule and events

Expect to get a weekly note from the teacher reminding you of each week coming week's focus and other useful info even if we are meeting during that week.

Note that the first day of each Course Week is a Wednesday and the last day a Tuesday. The deadlines for all assignments are at 12 noon EET/EEST.

Whole course meetings (everyone expected to be present) will be during Course Weeks 1, 4, and 6. There will also be a weekly 'open online writing lab' in our course Zoom room in which students can meet 24/7 to work together synchronously, ask each other questions about writing or anything else, as well as exchange bits of text for informal and formal peer reviews. The teacher will be present in the writing lab on Mondays 9:00-9:30 EET/EEST during Weeks 2, 3, and 5) to answer any course-related or writing-related question.

The first whole course meeting will be the Kick-off during Course Week 1. Prior to that, you are expected to complete some pre-course assignments (A1-A3) in Week 0.

The online course is run entirely online with meetings and assignments completed most often asynchronously and occasionally synchronously on Zoom. Each week has its own writing focus and skills-building focus. During the course, we will build the core written assignment in parts and implement a writing process typical of academic writing.

Please note that this is a fully online course. If you have any questions you may email your teacher (anya.rasanen@aalto.fi) or post a question in the Discussion forum (for any questions or concerns you might have) below.
