Welcome to this special course on coding theory and security! Please refer to the syllabus for some initial information, and come to the first lecture where we will discuss the interests of the students and decide on the contents and practices of the course. Tentative schedule
Week 1:
Lectures on finite fields, basics in coding theory, and code-based cryptography
Week 2:
Lectures on code-based cryptography and private information retrieval; selecting student project topics
Week 3:
Lecture on private information retrieval; TA session with some exercises and help for getting started with the projects; fixing the schedule for student presentations
Week 4:
Guest lecture on secure multiparty computation(?); student presentations
Week 5:
Student presentations
Week 6:Student presentations; TA session where you can get some help with the written reports if needed.
