  • Welcome to the course!

    The information for the Fall 2022 edition of the GIS-E1070 Theories and techniques in GIS -course will be added here before the beginning of Period II studies. The primary teacher for the course will be university lecturer Jussi Nikander (firstname.lastname@aalto.fi).

    Some preliminary information:

    • First event on the course will be the introductory lecture on October 26th at 14-16 (2-4 pm)
    • The course will be held on campus, lectures will be recorded
    • In order to do well on the course, you should have passed GIS-E1030 Introduction To Spatial Methods AND know how to code using the python language. Familiarity with the arcpy library is recommended
    • We are planning to use the ArcGIS Online cloud environment on the course. All students will be given access to Aalto organization in ArcGIS Online at the beginning of the course. 
    • The course schedule can be seen below. The schedule is still open to changes until the first learning session on the course. After the first session students will be informed of any changes in the schedule through the Annoucements forum.
