Topic outline

During the spring of 2023, Web Software Development (CS-C3170) will be organized as a fully online course. The course consists of reading online materials, working on assignments, working on projects, and conducting self- and peer-reviews. There are no explicit deadlines in the course: a rolling grading mechanism is used, which means that you can complete the course at a pace that best suits your studies.
There are no lectures or exercise groups. The course staff will be available for questions at times announced in the materials (subject to change). Moreover, the course staff will also review help requests posted through the course platform and the (unofficial) support channel (Slack).
The course materials and the course platform are available at https://fitech101.aalto.fi/web-software-development/. When registering to the platform, use your
@aalto.fi
email. For grading, the most up-to-date version of the grading specifications (subject to change) in the materials are used.-
Requesting grading is done using this questionnaire module. The module will ask for your personal code from https://fitech101.aalto.fi/web-software-development/1-introduction-and-tooling/3-grading/, the number of completed projects, approximate progress so far, and the expected final grade (based on the most up-to-date grading specification in the materials). The request grading option is available to registered students.
Before requesting grading, verify that you have completed all required peer reviews (peer reviews need to be completed only for the projects that you complete). Grading is done periodically -- the schedule is outlined at https://fitech101.aalto.fi/grading-schedule.
The grading date will be used as the actual course completion date.
