Completion requirements
Most important instructions for working in the Set Design Workshop.
Wood and metal workshop, paint shop (ATEX), plaster room and props storage
- The facilities and equipment can only be used for projects related to studies.
- The use of machines and equipment requires expertise. The workshop staff monitors and provides instruction in the use of equipment.
- It is prohibited to work alone.
- The work requires compliance with the workshop safety instructions.
- Due to the risk of entanglement caused by the rotating blades of the machinery, wear appropriate clothing (no loose, long sleeves, shirt hems or hanging strings) and keep long hair tied back or covered in a cap.
- Wear hearing protection!
- Protect your eyes!
- Your hands are your most important tools. Protect them!
- Do not use a machine unless you know how to use it with certainty!
- When working with the machines and equipment, take into consideration all other people working around you. When working, always make sure that you do not cause an accident to yourself or to another person – pay attention to the noise load caused by your work and flying sparks, amongst other possible risks.
- Do not leave any machine on unattended.
- Tools and machine tools must be cleaned and returned to their places, and the workspace must be cleaned.
- Any defects or deficiencies detected in the equipment or facilities shall be reported to the workshop staff without delay.
- Hand tools must not be removed from the workshop.
- Make sure that you have entered your contact information and date in the workpiece you leave in the workshop.
- Workshop personnel is not responsible for the work left in the workshop or in other public areas.
- Do not bring your own chemicals to the paint shop without notifying the workshop master.
- Use protective equipment in accordance with the safety data sheet when using chemicals/ mortar/ plaster.
- Do not leave chemicals in the paint shop without informing the workshop master.
- Do not pour chemicals or plaster into the drain/ sink.
- Clean up after yourself!
- Notify the workshop master if you borrow props. Return things to their correct place. Keep the storage area clean!
