How do you want the Home Exam submissions to be structured
First: Every page should have your name and student ID on it. The first page should be the so-called answer page with the answers in compact form, for instance, a function and its value evaluated at a point specified in the problem. If there are any specific things asked or you have made some observations such as missing absolute values in the question, state it here. Then, the following pages are the documentation, including everything that demonstrates your learning, in other words, how did you arrive at your results.

Explain the differences between different kinds of exams
After the course there will be a course exam. It will be timed, yet remote. The exam will be published on course pages and the answers collected in what can now be considered as usual via course pages.  The course exam is part of our ongoing course, that is, part of the continuous assessment.

Every year there will be four opportunities to take an exam that simply covers the whole course and is a standalone entity sharing only the learning objectives. These exams are not connected to any specific instances of lectured courses. Registration for these exams is mandatory.

For the participants of our course there is a choice: either stay within the continuous assessment or step aside completely and take the exam.

Explain the difference between exercise groups and Laskutupa!
Laskutupa is a free help centre primarily aimed at students in the basic mathematics courses (MS-A) although students from any mathematics courses are welcome to come for help. Exercises groups (tutorials) including the online one are focused on uor course only with teaching assistants assigned specifically to our course.
The online group is full. That's the one I want!
You can follow anyway the online sessions on Zoom and join the Zulip chat, even if you registered to one of the other groups. The participant limits are only meaningful w.r.t physical space. Unfortunately, the scheduling system does not recognize this. This year grading and groups are completely orthogonal. If this kind of engineering humour is alien to you, don't worry, you'll learn to appreciate it.
I cannot make it to my group's session. Can I visit another group?
Yes, it is possible. Because of the trying times we must have a list of participants of each event up-to-date, though. So please only register to a sinlge group whose session you really want to follow. And if you go to another group's session, always make sure that the TA knows you're a visitor.
How can I submit the homework?
You will be able to submit your homework in the "Homework submission" section of MyCourses. Boxes where you can submit the homework will appear there.
In which form should I submit the homework?
The preferred form is a single PDF file. It doesn't need to be necessarily typeset by computer, it can also be a scan of an image. But preferably one PDF, and with a clear handwriting.
The solutions to WHAT homework problems should I submit?
Each sheet contains problems labeled as "Intro" and some more as "Exercise". You have to submit solutions only to the exercises. The intros are an excellent warm-up, and sometimes they can also be very useful for the exercises.

I have taken Calculus before. Is there a way to convert previous credits?
Yes, it may well be possible. Your own study coordinator helps you with the paperwork. Every request is handled individually.
Textbook. Do I have to buy it?
You'll be provided the lecture notes and problem sheets via MyCo. The main advantage of the book is that it contains a vast number of examples. The lecture time is precious, there is only little time for examples, so having a calculus book is a good idea. However, any calculus book will do. Adams is the one we have used over the years, that's the reason it is listed.
