Drying and fixing

Use heat press for fixing the pigment ink to the fabric. Without proper fixing the ink wash fastness will be very poor.
If you are printing multiple prints, method 1 is recommended because the ink will be moist for a surprisingly long time and the print will be prone to smudges.

Method 1
  • dry the print on a rack, then use heat press to fix it
  • 170 oC, 45 s,  low pressure (1 bar)
Method 2
  • use the heat press with foam sheet or mat to allow the steam to escape
  • 170 oC, 45 s or more,  low pressure (1 bar)

Using the heat press

Do not start fixing until the heat press has warmed up to the set temperature. Remember to turn off the heat press after use.
