Note: See also lecture 6 on effective writing for the format of the project report (link to the lecture (PDF))

The report should follow the structure of a scientific report. A scientific report commonly has the following parts:

0. Title

- The topic of the report or a title related to it
- Author (i.e. your name)

1. Abstract

- Summary of the report. Typically just 200-300 words long.

2. Introduction

- General information about the topic and why it's interesting, 1-2 pages.

3. Data and/or methods

- If your work uses some data and it is analyzed in certain ways, this is where you describe those data (including its source) and methods briefly. Probably 1 page.

4. Results

- The results of your analysis, the most interesting pictures if any, and what you found out.
- This and Discussion below contain the bulk of the report.

5. Discussion

- What kind of deductions can you make out of the results, and what are the limitations of the study.

6. Conclusions

- Brief summary of the results. This can be combined with Discussion if wished. 0,5-1 pages.

7. References

- Include the references that you used. Remember to include the links to them at the spots in the report where you've used them. You may choose what kind of convention you wish to use but just don't mix conventions.

Report should be written in paper size A4 with text font size 12. It contains max. 10 pages (not including references and, if you make it separate, the title page), returned preferably as PDF.
