Notes:

  • Problems are now available up to 6B (the last set).
  • Solutions are now available up to 6B (the last set).

Every exercise group meets twice a week: Session A (Mon/Tue) and session B (Wed/Thu/Fri).

For each session (beginning from 1B) a set of homework problems is posted here, to be solved before the session. In the session, students show and explain their solutions, and the TA provides further help. Solutions are posted here after the last session of each set.

Attending exercise sessions is not mandatory, but the sessions are part of the teaching. Both the questions and the model solutions are part of the mandatory learning material. (And you get points for doing homework.)

Some problems (or parts) are marked "challenge". A "challenge" problem is worth an extra point: by doing all the regular (non-challenge) problems you already get 100% of exercise points, but by doing some challenge problems as well, you can go over 100%. If only a part of a problem is marked "challenge" or "optional", it is simply an optional part of the problem, not required for scoring the point for that problem. Challenge problems are not necessarily very difficult, but they may require some creative thinking.
