Group assignments are made with your tutor pair. Answer to questions for example in word document and send it to return section. (You may answer in Finnish or in English)

Premises. Find/visit/make sure that you know following places. Since exchange students are both bachelor’s and master’s level students, it’s important that you know BOTH Otaniemi and Töölö. If you have never visited Töölö or Otaniemi, DO SO before new exchange students arrive! We might also organize small tour in Töölö in August, where we show the most important places.

Answer also to the questions.

1. Keto, AYY’s central office. What services you can find here?

2. Espilä, KY's office. What services can you find here?

3. U-wing and Töölö main building. Why you need to know these places?

4. Printers. How many there are? Where are they? Where you can find stapler? BOTH Otaniemi and Töölö.

5. Learning HUBs. Where is Otaniemi HUB? Or Töölö HUB? How can you go to HUBs outside building opening hours?

6. Lunch. Make sure that you know at least 2 student restaurants in Otaniemi, and also 2 in Töölö. Which ones are open the longest? Are some restaurants open at weekends?

7. Work spaces. Where you can do group work? Where you can work individually? Name places both in Otaniemi and in Töölö.

8. Computer spaces. Where you can use school computers in Otaniemi and in Töölö?

9. Harald Herlin Studying center. What is it? Where is it? When is it open? What you can do there?

10. International Student services in Töölö. Where is the office of Minna Pekkanen, exchange coordinator of incoming exchange students?

Checklists. Discuss with your pair following topics, and do your "checklists" to make sure that you remember to tell your mursus about these things. (There is no absolutely right answer to these questions)

11. What places your mursu should know in Otaniemi campus? How about in Töölö?

12. How mursu can stay informed about KY's and AYY's events and get the information about student life and studies? (what channels to follow in social media etc.)

13. How to make sure that your mursu make friends with other exchange students? How about degree students? Plan and schedule your fall, how and when you (and your tutor pair) are going to spend time with your mursus?

14. What things have to be considered when exchange students arrive in Finland? (bureaucracy, customs, prices etc.)

15. What things would you like to show/tell to your exchange student about Finland?

16. There is no student union in every country, so how would you explain AYY and KY to your mursus?

Cases. Think with your tutor pair how would you advise your mursu (what to do, who to contact etc.) or how to act in following situations. There is no single right answer to these questions.

17. Your mursu is injured in cottage, middle of the forest. What to do and who pays the costs?

18. Your mursu is homesick and depressed, and wants to go back home. What do you do?

19. Your mursu doesn't pass the course, and he/she needs those study credits.

20. Your tutor pair has so much other things to do that he/she doesn't have any time to your mursus. You feel like you have to take care of your mursus alone, and that feels hard and time-consuming.

23. Your turn to ask.  What confusions do you have with tutoring and anything related? Come up at least 3 questions. Questions are answered in tutor trainings.
