Learning café as a learning method:

Learning café is a method for group work

The idea of this method is

-to share ideas and insights
-to discover different perspectives
-to find new viewpoints
-to acquire cumulative knowledge

Instructions for the virtual learning café:

- You all are divided into 3 groups/ cafés -> and 3 breakout rooms in Zoom
- Each group / café has a specific topic to discuss and reflect on (~10 min/each topic)
- Group gets a new topic when the teacher gives a sign in Zoom (we have 3 topics all in all.)
- write on google drive and express your ideas
- At each table, every group continues the discussion on the basis of the opinions, suggestions made by the previous one
- At the last table, pick 2–3 things you’d like to share with others

Example:

Group 1. starts with Topic: X --> gets another Topic: Y -->   gets another Topic: Z 

Group 2. starts with Topic: Y --> gets another Topic: Z --> gets another Topic: X 

Group 3. starts with Topic: Z  -->   gets another Topic: X --> gets another Topic: Y 


Work for 10 minutes with your topic at Google drive and discuss the topic in Zoom with your group

 Then you will get new link to another Google drive where you will have another topic (X, Y or Z) and you will continue the work of the previous group

 At the last(third)  table, pick 2–3 things you’d like to share with others


After you have discussed 10 min x 3 in Zoom with your small group – return to the main room in Zoom
