The perfect tense particle “过 guò” is used to indicate that an action has been experienced in the past.

Affirmative sentence

Subject + Verb + 过 guo + Object

  • 你 喝 过 中国 绿茶 吗?
    Nǐ hē guò Zhōngguó lǜchá ma
    Have you ever drank Chinese green tea?

  • 我 喝 过 中国 绿茶。
    Wǒ hē guò Zhōngguó lǜchá
    I have drank Chinese green tea.

Negating a “过 guò” sentence

Because “过 guò” is used to talk about past actions, it should benegated with “没 méi”. 

Subject + 没 (有)+ Verb + 过 + Object

  • 你 没 去 过 中国 吗?
    Nǐ méi qù guò Zhōngguó ma

  • 我 没 去 过 中国。
    Wǒ méi qù guò Zhōngguó

Subject + Verb + 过 + Object + 没有

  • 你 喝 过 中国 绿茶 没有?
    Nǐ hē guò Zhōngguó lǜchá méiyǒu
    Have you ever drank Chinese green tea?
