Students taking the Advanced Woven Fabrics and Jacquard Workshop or Workshop Project (and students who have taken this course on previous years) have Thu 23.3 reserved for weaving samples on industrial machine.

You can get 1-3 samples each, and to be able to weave, send an email for Maija latest by Mon 21.3 confirming how many samples you would like to do. Maija will answer either that it is ok, or that you can weave, but less than you planned (if there were too many interested in industrial weaving). Maija will also get back to you about the schedule of Friday weaving. For all samples to be woven, you need to send the usual information - design and product card - for Tiina two days prior to weaving, so on Tue 21.3.

If you are weaving a design that has already been woven, you don´t need to be present in the Friday weaving.

You can weave print grounds using shaft looms too, and note also, that test samples woven during the spring can make excellent material for printing - sometimes the samples you were most unhappy with, can turn into the most interesting ones when continuing the work with another media.

See the Aalto Epson brief for ideas!

Minimum size of the samples: 35 cm x 40 cm

Length of samples woven on industrial machine: 40 cm
