LEARNING OUTCOMES

A contemporary, topical building design task. The development of process thinking and prerequisites for interdisciplinary collaboration. The control of functional and artistic wholes. The design of the immediate environment of the building and its position in cityscape. The control of a demanding project and the development of presentation and illustration techniques. Basic understanding of technical systems for architects and the principles of sustainable development in building design.

    A course with varying content. The students become acquainted with the theme of each studio through lectures and group-work analysis. The assignments are carried out as group and/or individual work.

    Approved individually carried out student assignment. A minimum of 9 times' attendance is obligatory in tutoring. Participation in seminars and critiques is obligatory. The assessment is based on the quality of the design work.

    The order of priority for admitting students to courses at Aalto ARTS 1.1.2018 onwards (approved by The Committee of Arts, Design and Architecture on 10.10.2017)
