Please note! Course description is confirmed for two academic years (1.8.2018-31.7.2020), which means that in general, e.g. Learning outcomes, assessment methods and key content stays unchanged. However, via course syllabus, it is possible to specify or change the course execution in each realization of the course, such as how the contact sessions are organized, assessment methods weighted or materials used.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After the course the student will be able to:
- Employ the most generally used coordinate systems in effec-tive derivation of equations of motion for a particle.
- Express the quantities required in describing the motion of a rigid body in most commonly used coordinate systems.
- Deduce the equations of motion for a rigid body starting from the definitions of its mass properties and quantities describing its motion in most commonly used coordinate systems.
- Apply Lagrange s formalism and the quantities related to it in derivation of equations of conservative and non-conservative systems.
