LEARNING OUTCOMES

After the course a student will be able to 1) explain a concept of paradigm and different constructivist views on social reality, and contemporary concepts of leadership, 2) recognize contextual and relational nature of human agency, 3) practice dialogic and constructive communication in various social settings (pair, small group, large group), 4) review critically leadership related social concepts, rhetoric, and practices, 5) reflect critically on his/her personal experiences, relational practices, meaning making, and thinking on leadership, and 6) understand how leadership related skills and practices can be learned and developed both individually and collectively

CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    The course familiarizes the students with constructive and relational leadership theories and frameworks. Different approaches to leadership are critically examined by the students both separately through their own thinking and collectively in group discussions. These frameworks and their different aspects are utilized in analyzing and interpreting personal leadership experiences, and generic leadership related phenomena and practices. The course emphasizes the student's personal development through relational discourse, appreciative argumentation, and reflection. Towards the end of the course the students are expected to have constructed a personalized view on leadership and elaborated a preliminary plan of their personal development as a leader.
