  • Welcome to User Experience Design as Career course!

    This is a capstone course of USchool minor, available for the students of this minor only.

    The purpose of this class is to better understand the career options and the roles of USchool graduates, i.e., prepare for the work life in the area of USchool: User experience, Usability, User interface, User-centred design, etc.

    Schedule:

    15.3.   15:15-17:00  Company visit: SOK, Fleminginkatu 34, Helsinki.
                                     Note that we will meet at the reception at 15:00.

    • Submit your interview results presentation & consent forms by 26.4. 18:00

      Assignment:

      1. Each team/pair will present the interview results in the last plenary session on 26.4.
      2. Remove potentially confidential or identifying information on your slides (e.g., full names of the interviewees and photos, unless you have their permission), and submit the slides here.
      3. Submit also pdf version of the signed consent forms  - these will be handled confidentially.


    • Submit your final personal plan on 5.5 by 18:00. NOTE: Bring a draft version of the document to the tutoring meeting with your own school's USchool contact person (Marko / Virpi) on Wednesday 3.5.

      Personal Plan is a pdf document of free format, 1000-2000 words long.

      What we expect to see the following sections in the report:
      • Reflection on USchool studies
      • Reflection on this course
      • My career so far (related to USchool topics - 'no experience' is ok)
      • Suitable role(s) for me in working life (in a multidisciplinary team)
      • Plans for the future (with justification)
      We recommend that you use this opportunity to get to know yourself better, to identify your strengths, and perhaps to set some goals for the future. It would be nice to see some of these in the report.
