CONTENT, ASSESSMENT AND WORKLOAD

Content

    Description of course content:​ Basic concepts of sustainability, sustainable development, bioeconomy and circular economy are introduced. Following, the students will identify linkages of these concepts from a value chain perspective considering the source of material all the way to the end-of-life management of the final product. ​ Real examples will be described covering early-stage to established bioproduct industrial processes.​ Experts in sustainability assessment will be invited to provide guest lectures.​ Via guided exercises the students will build critical thinking for risks identification and help identify sustainability indicators by brainstorming cases discussed in class.​
