REHEARSAL INSTRUCTIONSHow to prepare for the rehearsal
- Prepare your slides. It is important that you can practise realistically using the
slides and how to match and synchronise your speech with the supportive
visual information.
- You can use the slide template attached below or a design of your own choice.
- These slides are for your practice talk, so they don't need be completely ready or perfect yet. After the rehearsal,
you can still make any changes or improvements that you might find necessary. - Practise your talk at home a few times before this rehearsal to ensure that it remains within the given time, i.e. 8-10 minutes.
- Submit the slides for your practice talk here as A6.
The rehearsal session
- The rehearsal session is your opportunity to practise the whole
presentation with the slides
and a small audience, to try the equipment and get feedback from your peers.
All the basic equipment will be available in the classroom.
- You will work in small groups
of 3-4 students. During the talk, the audience will focus on specific
features of the presentation according to given guidelines (attached below). After each talk,
the group will have 15-20 minutes for discussing the presentation and
giving feedback.
- The practice talk will be video-taped, and you will receive
a copy of the recorded rehearsal from the teacher after the rehearsal.
- The purpose of the videotaping and the self-analysis is to help you take
an analytical look at your own performance and use your own observations
in addition to the feedback from your peers to improve the presentation when preparing for the final conference.
Bring to the rehearsal
- Your visuals on a data stick, so that you can actually practise
giving the presentation once through with the visuals, even in case of
connection problems.
- Your laptop, if agreed with the teacher (if the room does not have a computer).
