Assignment 2 / template fp w three scenarios is attached here
You are financing an international co-production and a feature. The company has done international co-productions before in the Nordic region. It is the second feature of the director and the previous feature has done quite ok both domestically and in festivals, so your assessment is that you can package the writer/director internationally . Now, you are all set to start your work. You can either work on the assumption that part of the shooting takes place abroad, let’s say in Belgium or in the Netherlands OR a massive part of the post-production and gear comes from there. For the sake of the exercise, let’s say that you are operating in the budget range of ca. € 2,5 M.
Now, in December 2022, the writer has acquired an individual grant for writing the first version of the script.
The project requires development work both in Finland and abroad so start by putting the development financing plans in place. Make a rough financing plan for the production for the project including domestic financing, regional financing from the Nordics you acquire jointly with your Swedish/Danish/Norwegian co-producing partner and pan-European financing. Although your local partner will be the one to present the local financing opportunities for you in the Netherlands, make an educated guess as to what might be there for your project to appear professional.
So make a preliminary final plan for the film AND the timeline either in the columns of the financing plan OR separately in the form of Q1, Q2, Q3 etc. over the course of the two – three years you will put in this in effort.
When putting together the assignment, make sure it is easy to follow, has titles for different chapters about different scenarios.
