SCI Master's Thesis Guide 2023-

1. Get oriented

• Familiarize yourself with 
  • this SCI Master's Thesis Guide and it's
    • deadlines, 
    • evaluation guidelines, 
    • languages of the thesis, abstract and degree, 
    • research ethics and integrity and 
    • publicity of a master's thesis. 

2. Plan your thesis

• Brainstorm ideas for your topic and look for inspiration.
• Find a thesis topic, supervisor and advisor(s).
• *Apply for a topic, supervisor, and advisor(s) approval in eAge according the deadlines.
• Recommended: Discuss with your supervisor and advisor about the following things
  • What are your goals regarding the thesis grade and schedule?
  • When are you going to submit the thesis for feedback and comments?
  • When are you planning on submitting the final version of your thesis?

3. Write your thesis

• Discuss with the supervisor and possible advisor(s) during the process. Ask for feedback and help when needed.
• Do the thesis presentation and maturity essay.
• When your thesis, thesis presentation and maturity essay are completed, ask for permission to submit the final thesis from your supervisor. 

• When you have done the thesis presentation and maturity essay and your supervisor has given you the permission to return the thesis,
  • *submit the exactly same version of your thesis to 1) to your supervisor for evaluation and 2) to eAge for evaluation and approval according the deadlines. 

5. After submitting your thesis

• When you have completed the thesis presentation and maturity essay and submitted your thesis to eAge for approval and evaluation, 
  • *submit a graduation request in Sisu according to the instructions and deadlines.
• After submitting your thesis in eAge and a graduation request in Sisu you’ll receive an e-mail with information about graduation, link to the TEK Graduate Survey and an invitation to participate in the Graduation Party.
