OK7 Set Design Workshop
Bandsaw
Completion requirements
Before sawing:
- Lower the blade guard as close to the workpiece as possible.
- Make sure that the piece is securely supported against the table at the cutting point.
- With round profiles, make sure that the piece cannot rotate during cutting (cutting jig / locking pliers).
- For pieces that are difficult to cut, ask for help to support the workpiece against the table.
- If needed, place the side guide or the cutting ledge into position.
- Wear eye and hearing protection.
Sawing:
- Start the machine and wait until it reaches full speed.
- Take a firm grip of the workpiece.
- Press the workpiece tightly against the table and the guide.
- Rest the side of your hand on the table in precision work and when cutting small pieces.
- When necessary, use a push stick to progress your workpiece and to remove small pieces.
- Use an appropriate cutting jig when cutting round pieces.
- Do not pull the piece backwards while sawing.
- If the blade gets stuck, switch off the machine. Wait for the blade to stop, and only then pull the piece away from the blade.
After sawing:
- Turn off the machine and wait for the blade to stop.
- Clean the machine and the workspace.
- Take the leftover pieces to the waste container.
