The implementation of the course this year will be slightly different from the one of the two previous years. This is relevant only for those who wish to follow the old recordings.
The textbook is Strang:Linear Algebra and Its Applications, 4th Ed (Or: Introduction to Linear Algebra by the same author). As usual in higher education, only parts of the book will be covered. Earlier editions (or later?) are fine, all exercises will be distributed via MyCo. Handwritten lecture notes will be distributed, also as transcripts of the lectures. This book is one of the best available with plenty of support material on the web including Strang's own lectures.Assessment criteria are the peer-reviewed exercises, STACK, and the final exam.
The actual tutorials begin on Thursday, Oct 27. The first scheduled tutorials on Oct 24-26 do not take place.
Another, general forum is at https://math.aalto.fi/en/studies/laskutupa/ Laskutupa is a free help centre primarily aimed at students in the basic mathematics courses (MS-A) although students from any mathematics courses are welcome to come for help.

Perhaps it is not clear at first reading that 5b is not about computing but understanding. The answer is zero by definition, that is why the model solution is very short.
Continuous assessment (homework 33, exam 36) : 1 -> 27, 2 -> 36, 3 -> 45, 4 -> 53, 5 -> 62 or in percentage scale: 1 -> 40, 2->52, 3->65, 4->76, 5->89.
This is roughly the same scaling that has been in use for over 60 years! Please notice that the percentage in MyCo has nothing to do with the course assessment.

Mock Exam File PDF
By popular demand, here is a mock exam. I'll be available on Dec 12 if you have any questions on this or other material. I'll post the details over the weekend.
