  • The exam will be held on 21 February 2023 at 9:00 - 12:00. The exam will be online and take the format of a Quiz.

The resit exam is on 3 April at 16:00 - 19:00. The resit exam is also online and the format is the same as in the main exam.

The exam will not have problems where you need to develop models with Excel/R/Python. There may be small calculations where the use of one of these packages is helpful, but not necessary. You may also find using pen&paper or a calculator to solve these problems helpful.

The time limit is 3 hours and the exam closes at 12:15 (resit exam closes at 19:15). There is a Zoom session open between 9:00-10:00 to contact the teacher in case of technical difficulties (Zoom session for the resit exam is open between 16:00-17:00).

    • The exam contains multiple choice and calculation problems. Some problems of the latter type have multiple tries in that after each incorrect try, a third of the maximum points is deducted. It is stated in the problem descriptions whether there are multiple tries or not.
    • The number of decimals required for the answer is stated in each problem. The decimal separator depends on your language settings. If you are using MyCourses in Finnish, the separator is a comma ","; if in English, the separator is the decimal point ".". You may also check the correct separator (i.e., comma or decimal point) from the numbers given in the problem descriptions.
    • After answering to a problem, click the "Check"-button. In a problem that allows multiple tries, you can try again after an incorrect answer by pressing the "Try again"-button. Once you are finished with the exam, press the "Finish attempt"-button, and then "Submit all and finish". Any unsubmitted exams will be automatically submitted once the exam is closed.
    • Note that when you click the Check button within a question, this locks your answer and you cannot attempt it again unless the question allows multiple tries.
    • Please remember to read the problem description carefully. The grading is automatic and based solely on the final results, and the grading will not be changed even if the reasoning behind the results would have been correct.

    • The exam is individual work! Any cases of collusion or sharing answers will be considered as cases of academic misconduct and reported to the study office.
